Endowment Giving

The Oregon Symphony Foundation was created as a separate charitable organization with 501(c)(3) status to build a permanent endowment exclusively for the Oregon Symphony and its programs. 

This endowment provides a reliable source of funds every year for the Symphony’s operating budget.  The principal is invested to generate annual interest income in perpetuity.  It allows the Symphony flexibility to meet changing needs, ensures effective planning and provides essential funds for programs.

The Oregon Symphony Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees with expertise in investments, planned giving and nonprofit administration.  The Foundation Board is responsible for directing the investment strategy for the Oregon Symphony’s endowment fund and for planning and executing programs to increase the endowment fund.
