Oregon Symphony - 2008/09 Season
Education & Community

More than two-thirds of the events and activities presented by the Oregon Symphony take place outside of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. The Symphony's Education and Community Engagement programs bring music alive for Oregonians in schools, community centers and concert halls across the state.

Every year, an average of 70,000 children and adults representing 16 counties and more than 300 schools are engaged through 58 formal performances and more than 350 musician visits throughout the region.

Schools and Teachers

The Oregon Symphony offers a family of ensemble-based and full orchestra Youth Concerts for students K-5. Deepen the experience for your students by taking advantage of our free teacher resources.

Families

Share the experience of live orchestral music with your children at our Kids Series concerts in the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall or through Symphony Storytimes in area libraries.

Community Programs

The Oregon Symphony believes in the power of music to build community as evidenced through Oregon Symphony in the Neighborhoods and the Community Music Partnership.

At the Hall

Go behind the scenes at a working rehearsal during a backstage tour or prior to a Classical Series concert, hear a Prelude performance featuring young and aspiring musicians from throughout the region.
